Sankaran has 35 years of experience in the field of radiation protection. Over the years he has worked in the fields of uranium mining, nuclear power generation, non-destruction testing, and cancer therapy using radiation sources.

Sankaran has spent nearly 24 years in uranium mining and close to 10 years in the nuclear power industry.

 

He has expertise in occupational radiation monitoring, radiation training, and radiation safety instrumentation.

He has also expertise in occupational safety and environmental management in the uranium mining industry.

​

Sankaran's educational qualifications include a master's degree in radiation physics, post-graduation in Medical and Radiological Physics from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC, Trombay, India), Master's Degree in Business Administration from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS, Mumbai) and a post graduate diploma in Occupational Safety from University of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.

 

Sankaran is also a member of the Australasian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS).
